Videos!

1. I chose to watch the three videos because they were something that I was interested in learning about. I also wanted to explore what late gothic art and literature look like in England during that specific time period. 2. The key concepts learned in the video More Human Than Human are: • Imagery molds our lives by telling us how to feel and think • What makes art beautiful to one may not be beautiful to the next. So what is going on in the brain? • The evolution of paintings and sculptures and how as humans we contributed to their growth Late Gothic Art and Architecture: 1400-1547 • The transition from the Middle ages to the Renaissance through the late Gothic Art of England • The combination of sculpture and wood has made such a huge impact and development. • The idea of realism Cairo Museum: • Museum in Egypt filled with the most ancient artifacts • Stories that can never be explained from remarkable objects • These were royal treasures for the afterlife 3. The videos relate to the text by they both explain the importance of art and how it evolved in different time periods. They videos also convey the message of uniqueness and beauty in different pieces. 4. I really enjoyed watching the films. My favorite was watching the Cairo Museum. I learned a lot and thought it was interesting learning about the Egyptian culture. However, all the videos helped demonstrate different art concepts and was helpful seeing them visually.
